| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | | |

| | PTSD From An Incident In College Hello, everyone. I am here to give help, get help, and make friends. I have finally come to realize that PTSD doesn't have to be military-related. My PTSD stems from an incident in college, and I have been keeping it bottled up. Some things in my life are finally starting to make sense because they are tied to the incident. I am happy to have found this group.
Stuff about me: I am 44 and female. I am into NFL, music, movies, computers, trivia, board games, and travel. I am a teacher. I had Gastric Bypass Surgery on July 20, 2005, and I have lost 150 pounds. I have gone from a size 22 to a 4.
I look forward to knowing all of you.

| | Hi... welcome to the forum. Yep, PTSD doesn't have to be military related, it is the first place PTSD became recognised, but is now widely recognised as a reaction to traumatic experience, which happens in all sorts of situations. I didn't realise this until a while ago myself.
See you around on the boards, I am sure :)
