Isn't there a fancy one up your way that the celebrities go to? Whatever one that is, we'll buy it!

Yeh Jods but I dont think we could afford it!
I have a question do sufferers look to the future much or is it really a day by day thing.
Hubby is 50 and I will be in a couple of years we often talk about selling our house and moving onto acreage I can see that this would be a good move and I think he does to.
I often wonder can he see a long term plan with life or just take what comes?
I hope this isnt confusing?

Good question!
I'm just guessing but I think it depends on the individual. I just spoke briefly to hubby & he said that it is hard enough some weeks just to concentrate on what he has to do for that week let alone think of the future.
I suppose it goes back to the cup overflowing. Too many thoughts may create confusion & increase the stress levels.
We can talk about what we would like to happen down the track (like possibly buying a house) but at the end of the day what we would like to see happen & what does happen to us at times is another thing. Sometimes that thing called life just gets in the way!

I will poke in here. Long term plans in general are a no go. But man when that light shines through on occasion during healing (and it increases) that you do plan ahead, you are truly looking into heaven and how to make the most of what you have. Especially when you saw how much time the PTSD has eaten away, you feel robbed. You want to steal it back. May be in burst during times of feeling well, but know it is genuine. There are occasions we can think of long term, just not often.

Thanks for that veiled. That makes sense.

Just a question, when you said you look back & see what you missed out on does that bring up anger issues or do you just accept that it has happen & try to only look forward.
Just wondering in case it can cause a depressive cycle.

(Don't be concerned, hubby is fine) It is just for my information bank for the future.

Thanks Veiled thats a good question Jods!
I think us talking about selling our house and moving out of town so far has been a good thing as hubby is starting to do things around the house to improve it.
Maybe a new project is what he needed I just dont want him to overdo it as he tends to go at things like a bull at a gate sometimes?

For me... As that is all I can speak for. I find moments of feeling well and do not want to look back. Sadly symptoms come back, they are not as willing to let go as I. When a nightmare comes back or a panic attack you quickly find yourself being sucked in if you are not well adapted to coming back out (and when you are) Anger and depression can come back on as you feel you have been through so much to feel this yet again? How can that not be depressive or anger you? To have hope and feel it being taken. But those moments of hope we strive for.

Might I suggest strongly lining up projects in the new house? I have always regretted selling my home after work. My home would have been so much more pleasant if I had put the time into homes I sold. Try your best together to make the new home a retreat as it goes a long way for both.

Hope I answered your question.

Thanks Veiled for helping me understand this a bit better! We are hoping that getting a new house out of town and still be able to run our business as it is only 20 mins out.
I look that it will be a retreat of some sort if you know what I mean.
As for lining up projects to be done he is showing an interest in getting some things done.
But I call him Mr 50% as that is all that seems to get done in his little projects
