| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | | |

| | We are also looking forward to the Adventures of Maggie and Plats! Thank you again for sending Plats, Evie is very happy.
Because Evie was on the urgent list, her surgery has been bumped up to September 10th! That means a pre-op appointment with her GP on the 4th, a pre-assessment clinic on the 6th, and of course her treatments on the 7th and then the surgery the following Monday. As we live a 2.5 hour drive from the hospital and clinic, next week is going to be interesting to say the least. We are inquiring about staying at the cancer lodge, Evie and either Jim or myself, for the week. If it's possible, it would be much simpler than driving back and forth, which when adding all the hours together would literally be 20 hours on the highway.
In any event, I am happy Evie is getting the surgery over with quickly. We had thought it was going to be in December, and that cut into our plans to go away for Christmas. Now we may be able to have our family holiday afterall! |

Nice to hear that Christmas is all-clear. Can all of us from this forum show up at your house? What time?

We are going away for the Christmas holidays. We had thought Cuba, as we've gone there in the past, however friends of ours have retired to Curacao, an island off the coast of Venezuala, and they would like us to visit. We may get a chance to visit Venezuala as well, which would be lovely as we've never been there. |

| | Believe I will be the one accompanying Evie to the cancer lodge. At least, I volunteer, as I want to spend more time alone with Evie. Grand opportunity.
Yep Curacao should prove lovely. Kathleen is polite. Didn't mention the real reason our friends invited us down there - which is to convince us to purchase a timeshare with them. ;-)

| | Evie's cancer Kathy,
I hope Evie's surgery is just overnight so she can get back to her own bed. Here in the US, almost everything is overnight because the insurance companies don't want to pay for the hospital's bed.
In 2001, my husband and I took a cruise that stopped in Venezuela, then after the cruise, we flew to Curacao. I will PM you.
ETA: I have alot to tell you but I can't PM.

| | Evie's Cancer I don't know how to turn it on. I am computer-dim. It took me a long time to learn how to get a picture for my name, and even now I don't know the difference between an 'avatar' an a 'post icon', and I don't know how to add those curious, little round yellow people off to the right of this box, either. I have not yet purchased a cell phone, nor have I joined the 20th century. I do, however, own a microwave. <curtsey>
Do not envision me in a long skirt, high boots, whipping my horse as I drive my covered wagon across the desert of New Mexico. It's not quite that bad. |

Well, I am alone for the entire week! Jim and Evie left for St. John's (Evie's surgery and so on) and won't be returning until the 11th or 12th; Jacob went to a friend's for the week. So, it is just me and the animals, though perhaps the grandchildren will visit one day. I am rather excited though; it's not often I get some time to myself, especially an entire week! I should have plans but I believe the main plan is extra sleep!
I am praying Evie's surgery goes well, of course I will keep everyone informed as I will likely be talking over the phone to my husband daily. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
