| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | | |

| | Thank you for asking Jen. Jim and Evie are in the city this week as Evie has surgery on Monday and several tests as well as her treatments this week. I talked to Jim about an hour ago. Today was very quiet, no doctor's appointments, so Jim and Evie stayed at the hotel. Evie slept most of the day, she was having trouble staying awake. That is a bit of a concern, however it is likely a combination of anxiety and the cancer.
I will be joining Jim in the city on Friday. Evie is going to be admitted to hospital that day, that is her treatment day and she will need to be under observation to make sure she is ready for the surgery Monday. It is not common to have surgery whilst also having chemotherapy; in fact normally it is not allowed. However the surgery is to screen out cancer, so it can't be delayed. It is a bit of a worry, is she strong enough and so on. Last surgery she had an unusually large amount of blood loss.
So, Jim and I will have our weekend in the city afterall! Hopefully, if all goes well, we will be bringing Evie home Tuesday or Wednesday at the very latest. |

| | Well Jen, we will try to enjoy ourselves nonetheless. We are returning to the spa where Evie sent us originally, using the voucher we obtained after our abrupt departure. Evie will be ill from treatments Friday-Sunday and likely sleeping the majority of the time. Sunday we have a reservation at the cancer lodge, so we will be moving there after 2 nights at the spa. I believe the spa will still be very pleasant for us, and will make Evie happy as well, as she truly wanted us to have a nice time. |

| | Have a safe trip, Kathy. Please send my best wishes to Evie and Jim, too. I'm sorry she can't go swimming, what a shame. I'm praying her surgery goes well. |

| | Thank you Hodge. Yes Evie loves swimming, and the pool at the hotel is something really special, very uniquely designed with a waterfall, rocks and so on. However with Evie's central line, a sort of semi-permanent IV inserted in her chest, she is not able to swim, as chlorine could get into the tubing and cause problems for her. |

| | Thank you Wendy, I do hope everything goes well and I am able to enjoy myself without worrying! I may be on the forum again tomorrow before I leave, however after that I will be offline until Tuesday likely. Evie has her laptop with her in the city, however I feel like a computer break so I will likely not use it! Do take care all. |
