Oh the latest is he has an ingrown toenail the doc said if it doesnt clear up he will take it out. He had an appointment the other day and could not get out of bed so now we have to wait two weeks to see the Doc. Now its infected so he has to take antbiotics to clear it up if he would have gone to his appoinment the other day it may have saved some grief!!

Just remind him Jen that with his diabetes that he has to be careful with his feet. For some reason the foot takes longer to heal & if left unchecked can turn into something more serious.

I will answer with three words to your question "will they ever learn?"- THEY ARE MEN... so in other words no. Perhaps if you looked up on the internet terrible pictures about the effects of diabetes and make him look at them. For example, find a pic of some one who had to have their foot amputated- this usually works to some degree because these pics will make people feel ill to look at... Just a thought but it might work.

I must agree with Tammy, part of it may simply be a male thing, as Jim is quite loathe to go to the doctor, even when he definitely needs to, and he does not have PTSD. I am not certain all the reasons though some of it is male pride (with Jim anyway) and not wanting to appear weak. However Jen, your husband must indeed be careful with diabetes and wounds of any kind. Such things can turn very serious very quickly.
