Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now.

Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year.

Thanks Bec and Kathy yeh I have to be realistic I suppose it was more my dream than his but after sitting back and thinking about it not a good idea at this time.
Yep I am disappointed but that is the way it is?

Oh that is unfortunate Jen, sorry you are disappointed. I am being very honest however when I say it is a tremendous amount of work. If you were going to move you really would need your husband's help. Perhaps you can think of something else to ease your disappointment, such as visiting the country for holidays more often?

How is your husband doing now Jen? Any better? I thought of you as last night Evie had a huge "pig out" on McDonalds burgers and chicken nuggets and was quite ill all night as a result.

Hi Kathy thanks for asking poor Evie I reckon if I had a pig out on Maccas I would be sick to!
He is still not great I am just taking it easy with him whats the point of lecturing him when I see him sit down and eat so much sugary cakes yesterday?
He knows he shouldnt because of his diabeties! If I hear him say one more time he is going to start exercising and nothing is happening I will scream!

Yes poor Evie is right, we gave her a talking about it to when she came home, as she is supposed to be extremely careful what she eats. However I couldn't help feeling badly for her as she was ill all day yesterday and is still feeling poorly this morning! We are starting to wonder if she perhaps contracted food poisoning, though Colin ate the rubbish along with her and has had no ill effects whatsoever.

That is most disappointing that he is still not sticking to his diet. Sugary cakes cannot be good for diabetes! Could he not be eating fruit instead? That is also sweet, if he is craving sweets. In any event I suppose there is only so much you can do Jen. I understand your frustrations. Have you tried having healthy snacks around as Veiled suggested?

Hope she is feeling better today Kathy! I have had fruit and healthy snacks available for him.
He is eating a bit of fruit but then sat down last night with the biggest bowl of ice cream and cake!
I am not saying anything to him he is a big boy!
All I can do if watch and see what happens if there will be consequences for his refusal to look after himself?

Well Jen, if you are providing him with healthy choices then there really is nothing more you can do I suppose. It's up to him now, as you say he is a big boy!

Unfortunately Evie is still ill from the McDonald's... 2 and a half days now! I am getting a bit concerned.

Lucky you aren't down here at the moment Jen, it's cold & windy. Not good golf conditions at all. I'm thinking that we are back to winter but at least the rain has been good.

Sorry to hear Evie is still feeling sick. Is it due to the all the processed crap in Mcdonalds that has flaired something up in her system? Just goes to show that good old home style cooking is best!
