Default Editorial Policy

OK, I read the editorial policy and I realize what happened.

Veiled I apologize for quoting your name in a thread that was meant to point out my opinion to several other posts made by other people. I see how it would implicate only you to the whole issue, when that wasn't what I meant to do.

I believe I did that before to bec in the past, and I'm sorry to her as well.

As I read things I realize I'm still learning to communicate effectively with others, and I do have to go back and reread because for some reason it doesn't all sink in the first time.

I usually learn by trial and error for some reason, so I imagine there will be other errors on my part in the future.

But some times I feel I'm doing the right thing, and it is hindsight that clarifies the error, when some one brings it to my attention.

Peace
Tammy

I finally read the "Responsibility of Editors and Members" and now have a better understanding of everything. I agree with everything in it.

It is best to think before posting, but I realize in time it will go into archieve. So it is no big deal and nothing to fuss over. I am relieved the one topic I posted is finally locked, I could tell it was going no where and has no benifet to the group. I learned an important lesson in the mess. I would like to apologize to the Editors. I am not going to do what I did again.

I too learn by trail and error. The thing is acknowledging the mistake and taking responsibiltiy, then learn from it and move forward.

Thank you, both of you, for your apologies.

We all make mistakes. If we don't make them we can't learn from them. We also are here to learn. Everyone's learning curve is a bit different.

Well done to both of you.

I would like to drive this point home for ALL members. This is WHY there are stickied threads on the top of the forum, in the introductions section and in all the forums. PLEASE READ THEM. They contain very important information about posting, member guidelines, and moderator responsibilities. If you don't read and follow these, you can end up back in moderation because of it.

READ THE THREADS FIRST, and save yourself a lot of grief.

Everyone makes mistakes. But me, of course.

Everyone knows how perfect I am.

I believe the most important point that come from this, is that you are looking inwards and towards the larger picture of this community. An online community is text, it doesn't come with feeling, facial expression, tones and so forth. This means that what you write and what you mean can come across as two very different things. This is why we have editorial policies, why we have help sections, FAQ's, etc; so members can read first before hopefully putting their foot well and truly within their mouth.

Apology for mistakes is a big deal though, well done to you both. We all do it, and I often am apologising for taking something the wrong way or not getting my point across at times... really does depend how I am on that day, though I typically do not attend here if not near 100%. Choices and really thinking about what we say is important on an online community. I would rather bluntness than stepping around things, though obviously with bluntness one should never respond in haste, instead attempt to see the point being made first, and if not, ask. If someone is outright just attacking you with no point, then report the post and it would simply be edited.
