Default Grama Herc is Bummed Out

I tryed to win a bid on ebay for a doll my daughter had untill her life took a turn for the worst and she lost it. It was the only childhood toy she cried over loosing when we talked. It means a lot to me to replace it!!!

Well I lost the bid and the doll is gone. It was one of the cleanest I saw considering it was made in 1971. So back to square one. I WILL replace that doll! But I am disappointed. I want to try to replace it for Christmas. Especially since it is the baby's First Christmas.

I am so bummed out. Oh well, keep trying, RIGHT?

A disappointed Grama Herc

Herc, when I saw you mention you had placed a bid I almost said something but didn't. I will now. Learn the art of sniping on Ebay. Just put the item on you watch list. Make up your mind the absolute most you are willing to spend. Then depending on your Internet speed go in at the very last few seconds (under 10 or 15) and type in the whole amount you are willing to spend. It will only bump you up to .50 cents to a dollar over the highest bid. Not necessarily the whole amount you put in, just depends what other people put their limit at and normally I see people just bid a dollar more than previous bidders.

I don't Ebay often but when I do I only snipe. Many people go in and bid a dollar at a time which I don't get. I win more auctions this way and it keeps the price affordable. If you bid early all that happens is the price is driven up and you could also lose the auction. Not many people love this way but Ebay is sort of a big peoples game... And I get a kick every time I get something I really want without breaking the bank.

Keep trying if you really think you need the doll.

Thanx for the advise. This was my first time to bid on anything on ebay. I will do as you suggested. I had already marked some other ones to watch, though they were not as nice. BUT I want one so I'll deal with it.

Everyday I learn more about this "machine" and what it can do. This is the first computer I've ever had. It has certainly been a learning experience to say the least

Thanx again GRAMA H.
