Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now.

Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year.

In two hours and 48 minutes I will go to my GP for the first time to discuss my problems. Haven't slept all night, I'm really stressed out... But I have some (slim) hope that I'll get some help soon.

No help. The psychopaths (the appropriate term if you ask me) wanted to discuss all with my parents... my parents even had to attend the meetings. They were the one who did this to me!! I can't believe this....

It's some weeks ago now but I'm still shocked. There is no solution for my problems?? Were my parents right and am I just damned?

Because I had suicidal thoughts the week before I went to my GP and I told my GP... apparently they wanted my parents to help me with it...

Sherlock, are you underage? The only way parents can be "brought' in or have information shared is if you gave consent or they are still legally responsible for you.

No, I'm not underage. It's just wrong how they acted but health care in the Netherlands just doesn't seem to bother. I have a friend who was treated the same, even though she didn't even live with her parents any more. I just sent him (the psych) a 600 words email hoping they will get the picture now...
