| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | | |

Voodoo magic trick is: mind is more powerful than any craving or habit, you just haven't learnt it yet.
Depending what you do in the military, what type of person maybe oneself is and so on, let me just say that my training had a lot to do with power of the mind, along with my martial arts throughout my life also.... though learning how to control one's pain threshold is certainly a step in the right direction to learning exactly how to control one's mind to achieve anything you set yourself upon.
No.... all the magical books, tapes and hyped selling mind power BS is just that... Bullshit. If you cannot learn from experience, I doubt you will learn for it to be instinctive. |

As for everyone else and their ideas - please PM them to me instead of posting here to give Anthony any more bad ideas. I will screen the ideas and then carefully send them to the recycle bin |

| | Anthony,
As far as your statement "mind is more powerful than any craving or habit, you just haven't learnt it yet." I beg to differ on that point with you if it was aimed at me.
I have quit drinking, drugs, smoking and medication all cold turkey and on my own. So I do know mind over matter. I just choose to spend my time on more valuable things such as trying to deal with my biggest problems with having PTSD. Depression, low self esteem, and keeping myself healthy so that I can work and support myself. I also allow myself the treat of having my nails done every 2 weeks with Acrylic so that I don't bite them and they look nicer....
I am glad that you won your battle with mind over matter and no longer bite your nails. |

| | As far as I know She Cat this had nothing to do with you. Anthony only said what he said as someone asked how he did it. |

| | Hey she cat,
No, nothing was directed at you, nor another here. It was only what I was trying to portray to understand what I did... sorry, was not meant or directed at anyone, just about self reflection really. Likely me just not thinking clearly, as I am not at present, hence my lack of participation here for dealing with my own personal life matters.
Well done though on your wins with your own life battles, that is the trick. Your doing just fine IMHO.... fighting like a trooper for the life you want back. Well done; again, sorry... it was not directed to anyone, just my lack of thought at present. My brain is struggling to think at the moment with all the crap going on in my life. Take care.... |

| | Thanks for clarifying this...
As for the daily struggles that you are having in life right now....As you know, I fully understand and this too is where I am struggling to fight off the depression. I also have Seasonal Affective Disorder so this time of year is doubly hard for me.
I do hope that your struggles and issues with things can be resolved soon..... |

| | what is even worse is when he grins really big, pulls the covers over my head and holds me tight under there and farts a big one and I can't get away for several seconds.
That's cruel. |

| | But its natural.... what more can I say? Everyone does it.... just some are more discreet than others.... he he he :)
I guess I would definitely be one of the lesser discreet persons with farting. I do it in the shopping aisle then quickly vacate and listen from the next aisle for any choking, then piss myself laughing. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
