| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | | |

| | Veiled, You gave me another chuckle. I have just discovered this funny part of the forum and it helps ease the pain for a brief moment.
I think we should all pitch in for some air purifiers for Nicolette! =)

We like holiday season. We selebrate Khanukka, Christmas, and New Year. However, we manage to have fun and not much of stress. First, we celebrate only with family or closest friends. Second, we go for easy gifts: for example, gift cards. This year, by the way, I broke this rule and got an I-pod for the stepson and an electrical car-seat massager for Hubby. We do not go out and do not invite a lot of people in the house.
The only real stressor is the noise made by people outside, and drunk guys sometimes appearing on your backyard.I usually ask a friend to keep my car in his garage for the Christmas night and New Year night.
And one more thing: if someone did not prepare gifts, or prefered to go to sleep instead of celebrating - others are never disappointed. |

| | i would like santa to bring me a job ;P
no, really. luckily i'll spend the holiday season getting trained at my new job. last interview tomorrow. hope it happens. i like the idea so much i wouldn't mind having to work the whole summer and not being able to see my folks.
i so want to pay my own rent (not doing it right now). it would be the best christmas gift.
if i don't get the job i'll stop looking for a month and go visit my parents to do a little detox and a little babysisterhuggin', which would also make me very happy (but would probably end up annoying me to no end when they start giving too much instructions) |

| | Well, I would just like to say that I am cross with Anthony now........he went shopping today to buy my Christmas present and has come home with a cement brick from Bunnings (the hardware store) wrapped up in Christmas paper.
What is even more annoying is that I thought I knew what he was buying me and he gloated about it saying he knew what I thought it would be and was correct. What a cow!
He is walking around the house thinking he is so damn smart and is ignoring all discussions surrounding my present....
I'm not impressed as I can't stand surprises and have no patience when it comes to exciting things...... Man, he is driving me crazy. I mean, I have to put up with his smelly farts and now he is enjoying tormenting me. |

| | Maybe this is a life lesson in patience??? *put the brick down, Nicolette!!*
Men, I've found, all level out at about nine or ten years old and then just get bigger. And there's nothing more smug than a little boy with a secret. Not only does he know something you don't...you want to know, too. That's just gravy for him!
BTW-The WWDWSMFC (Women Who Deal With Smelly Men's Farts Club) meets every other Thursday at 7pm. Welcome to the club. *grin*

| | I elected not to put up a tree in my house, to keep me calm and unstressed. I have paper strewn all about the house though, as I am trying to bind several books as gifts. I am also creating a sort of choose-your-own adventure book for my mother--I can't afford to buy her a new computer, so I'm putting together all the options so she can choose her own, and then I'll help her set it up.
I want Santa to bring me a pair of Uggs (unlikely), some cashmere sweaters (equally unlikely), and the new Harry Potter DVD (probable!). |
