Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now.

Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year.

Default Chronic PTSD Looking For Support
Hi,
I am in Pa.
Chronic ptsd veteran,southeast asia.1974-75.
My ptsd was triggered when I visited the wall in DC.
I have lost not only the person I used to be but my fiance' and facing eviction.
I am a dog lover and believe in god.
Having a great deal trouble understanding how this site works.Part of that is having ad ptsd for eight months as well as having NO SUPPORT GROUP.We are only as strong as our support group.
I was referred to this site by an on line angel with much wisdom about vets with ptsd.
Would like to have anyone confirm via email that this message is the correct place to begin.

Hi Dercidog, your in the right place. I got your email from using the contact form, though this is your notification that you're in the right place and posting correctly. I understand that you may be anxious at present, though if you slowly read through the topics in the "new member" forum, you will get a full understanding of how the forum works, especially as a new member.

Forums can be quite complex if you're not used to them, and it takes time for you to learn. Once you do though, you will be just fine. Keep posting and talking here, and people will respond. Read threads and respond to them if relevant to yourself.... you will find the support and understanding needed here.

I am also new here and not a computer person. After one week I feel a bit more settled in the forum. I also have chronic PTSD and no support group what this one will hopefully become.
