| |  New - PTSD From Childhood Abuse
There was a lot of violence in my family. It was directed mostly to me and also some other children. My father was the main batterer but my mother would set me up and also attack. There were other forms of abuse, done in public or in front of other members of the family. My mother protected the younger children from the abuse. I was told by her that she did not love me as she did the younger ones.
I still have the intrusive memories and nightmares from the abuse and live in a lot of fear. Even though I have spent many years working on these things, they are still present in my life but not the main center of it. Time has done some healing for me. I know I continue to heal but also need to learn to accept and love myself. |
