Default Hello - Seem to have Always had PTSD

Hi, my name is Tracy.

I've been dealing with depression, anxiety disorder, and PTSD my whole life it seems. My first memory is of the house coming down around me and being scared I was going to die. That was in Hanover IN during the Super Outbreak of 1974. (tornadoes) My entire neighborhood was demolished.

I've had several traumatic injuries as well as a few brushes with death during medical issues. My leg was almost deemed expendable in order to save my life from a serious staph infection that kept me hospitalized collectively for over 4 months (3 of those were constant hospitalization) One day before the scheduled amputation I miraculously started responding to antibiotics and was allowed to keep my leg. It was during all this that my ex set me on fire while in my hospital bed, he was kind enough to put me out however when I began screaming so I avoided serious physical injury.

I was under the thumb of an abusive step father from the time I was 3 and went straight from that into an abusive marriage at age 19. I'm 37 now and my divorce was final this past August. I spent 6 months at the Center for Women (DV shelter) upon leaving my ex. It was there that PTSD was diagnosed. I've been reading about C-PTSD here lately and I believe that's the most accurate description of me.
