| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | |

| | Just Another Newbie - Like The Honesty of the Forum hi just joined and feeling overwhelmed by it! Am fighting the urge to completely ignore and dissasociate myself from the situation and once agan i am totally caught off guard by my emotions/re-actions to any situation that isn't planned for and rehersed before-hand in my mind- talk about in-flexible! Guess that's the ptsd exploding out.
Just wanted to say hello to everyone and to also say thank you for talking honestly. it's nice to be able to just be, and not have to hide ptsd and all nutty stuff that goes with it. Happy healing to all :crazy-eye |

| | Welcome darkskies,
Glad you did join and say hello. Even now, if I join a new community, its always a bit nerve racking finding your feet, getting comfortable and feeling part of a community. I understand how hard it is to just make that first step, especially taking something like PTSD so public as we do here.
Its great to have you, and I really look forward to chatting with you more. |

| | So glad you're here Darkskies! It is really nice to have a place to come and chat or just listen. Knowing that you are not alone is so valuable.
I'll have to look it up again, it's written about in one of the books I have about PTSD, but the mood swings from Anxiety to Aggression are very common (and most taxing on our relationships.) I still have them and haven't figured out how to balance the tide yet, but knowing that is is "normal" helps make me feel less like an out of control freak LOL!
