| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | | |

| | Introducing Myself as a Carer - Wife Has Complex PTSD Hello. My name is Tommy and I'm new here. I'm a Carer for my wife who suffers from Complex PTSD. We've known each other nearly 30 years and have been married for almost 6 years now. Her PTSD didn't really kick in until the second year of our marriage. I am 58 years old and she's 44. She has 2 sons from previous marriages, 21 and 17 years old. I've been a teacher for 27 years after several years on the road as a musician. I look forward to sharing and learning here and am hopeful that tomorrow will be a better day. |

| | Welcome to the forum Tommy, lovely to have you. I am also a carer, though I am the parent of a sufferer rather than a spouse. We have an active Carers forum though I have always found it very useful to ask questions of the sufferers as well. I do hope you enjoy your time here and I look forward to chatting with you more. |

| | Hi Tommy, I'm glad you decided to post here. I know my ptsd is hard on you, too, and I hope posting on this forum and reading here will be good for us both.
Love you. |
