Default Introducing Myself as a Carer - Wife Has Complex PTSD

Hello. My name is Tommy and I'm new here. I'm a Carer for my wife who suffers from Complex PTSD. We've known each other nearly 30 years and have been married for almost 6 years now. Her PTSD didn't really kick in until the second year of our marriage. I am 58 years old and she's 44. She has 2 sons from previous marriages, 21 and 17 years old. I've been a teacher for 27 years after several years on the road as a musician. I look forward to sharing and learning here and am hopeful that tomorrow will be a better day.

Welcome to the forum Tommy, lovely to have you. I am also a carer, though I am the parent of a sufferer rather than a spouse. We have an active Carers forum though I have always found it very useful to ask questions of the sufferers as well. I do hope you enjoy your time here and I look forward to chatting with you more.

Hi Tommy, I'm glad you decided to post here. I know my ptsd is hard on you, too, and I hope posting on this forum and reading here will be good for us both.

Love you.

Default Welcome

Welcome Tommy!

The carers are so important in this entire process. You really learn what "unconditional Love" is all about welcome to you and Belle and just hold onto each other. Talk, talk and then talk some more. God Bless!

Yes, welcome to both of you ! There is so much info here for the sufferer and the carer. And secondchance you said it so good, talk, talk, talk !!! Share feelings, emotions, laughter, fears, tears ! My bf has PTSD and we do a lot of that, we communicate a lot and share our feelings !
