| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | | |

| | Finally Went to Church I've been trying to go to church for 7 months now. I finally went today with only 3 hours of sleep.
I felt suspicious of the people and shy as usual, but hugged one of the members that I've known for a couple of years. I'm not a hugger
I usually sit by myself and don't talk to anyone. I made two attempts to speak to two members, but only one responded.

| | Tammy,
I actually went to Xmas Eve Mass. First time in a church in 10 yrs. I am considering joining this church too. I feel that maybe a little spiritual help might be good too.
I know how tough is was for me to go, so I totally understand how you felt. Good job. |

| | Good for you Tammy! I started going to church with my family again recently. I'm not sure I believe in God or not but I do enjoy the outing and its a good way to meet people and try to be more social. I'm really impressed that you went alone.. at least it sounds like you went alone? Great job, especially with starting conversations with people, that is huge. |

| | Well done Tammy.... progress is progress, and it is these small steps we must use to constantly keep us moving forward, even if it is two steps forward, one step back, atleast we continue forward slowly. Keep pushing.... it only gets easier the more you push yourself. |
