| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | | |

| | I Got a Job Again! Some of you will remember that last year I had a job as a comic book inker for a few months. I had to quit because I was having cancer treatment and couldn't handle the stress of working (even though it was from home) and having the treatments at the same time. It was a real blow to my self-esteem as I had been so excited to have the job in the first place.
At the time, I had applied to several companies but only heard back from the one who hired me. However, in the months that followed, another company saw some of my work and recently asked me to come New York City for an interview. I had to leave my Christmas holidays early in order to go for the interview. Coincidentally, the interview took place on my trauma anniversary. I was really worried I couldn't handle any of it, but my family and friends encouraged me, I went to New York with my dad, I had the interview and I was hired on the spot! I start my job as a penciller/inker in March.
I can't mention the name of the company I'm working for publicly just yet, as I have a non-disclosure agreement until I actually begin work in March. I will be working from home, and I'm making a small room in our house into a little studio for myself. I'm really excited but nervous too. I'm worried about job performance, my cancer coming back and so on, but I'm trying to stay positive and not stress over it. I need to do a lot more work on my self-esteem and I'm glad I have until March to do so.

Reason: I edited this Evie because you have a non-disclosure, which even legally means hinting. Edited for legal protection.

| | Well done Evie.... and I left an edit remark that I made to your initial post due to legal reasons that could bite you on the arse if left the way it was. My understanding is that non-disclosures typically legally cover hinting or any remarks that could be traced to past proof, which could be done so if you search through your posting history. |

| | Oh okay thanks for the edit then. Yeah I never thought of hinting being included... but you're probably right. I think I should read the agreement again, I have a copy that I signed actually, might be a good idea!! |

I recall Anthony saying it was only a matter of time until your work was picked up by publishers. |

| | Congrats, Evie. I never had any doubt that you'd get another job doing what you like. You're too talented for someone not to notice and hire you.
Great job!
