Default Pain - Real or From the Past?

Does anyone get pains that are unexplainable, but if you think about it, it's a pain from past abuse? I do, it sucks. I'm a medic and know what I may have or may not have done to cause pain, but I am forever getting pains that after awhile I realize it is a physical memory of the past. It is very frustrating at times, because I will eventually go to my doctor and be told I have muscle spasms, and I will ask does he think it is from my ptsd, he usually says yes, and then we go into looking for internal scars from there.
I am in deep pain right now, dr.'s tommow, we'll see.

Hiya
Sorry to hear that you are in such a lot of physical pain as well as emotional. I know that it is not deemed the best way to cope by dealing with the symptoms but does your doctor not think this might be a possibilty to make your life easier?

I also have pains and am not sure why. All my legs, hips, back and neck ache but cant think of any reason why this would be linked to my trauma. Feel 92 not 32 lol.

Take care

Yes, I get pains that are not from the here and now. If my stress levels get too high I get horrible kidney pain. It is from trauma and nothing is actually wrong with me. It is like flashbacks. I smell fire, but none there and I no longer call for fire rescue :). Talk about embarrassing. When first doing exposure therapy and purposely triggering I could feel, smell... All sorts of sensations. Pains are no exception.

lol on the fire rescue, now that's funny. I had to call ems after watching eight seconds of Schindlers List, real bad one smells too, flesh on fire, ewwwww, makes my stomach sick just writing it, ems had to restart my heart, it wanted to tick to a weird screaming meme group type band, slow fast flatline etc.
The pains are awful, I know, I once could not get out of the bed I laid down in when I started a flashback, I usually would never lay down, I had no choice, the pain whacked me like the boulder of the past that was sitting on top of the explosives, purposely place, knowing full well one of us would get hurt, hello, it was me that day.
I couldn't move for what seemed like hours, in the flashback I was trying to get to my brother who was also wounded, his eyes wouldn't open, so I stayed in that state til full circle and my brother and I were freed.
Don't remember who did the removing of us, but I do remember when his eyes opened, phew,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,it seemed like it took forever, but once again, I was assured he was safe and alive for now, back then.
Sorry you have to go thru that too veiled, its no fun at all, I tell ever medical professional the same thing, I would rather die then go thru a boomer, (major flashback like that one)
I don't know if any or none understand why I say it, but I say it non the less to let them know how seriously I hate flashbacks.
anyway, thanks for sharing, helps to know I am not the only one,,,,,,,you gave me a bandade without knowing it, thanks,,,,Donna-Lynne
