| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | | |

| | Hello - Just Diagnosed With PTSD Hello
I found out that I have PTSD a few months ago. I started therapy in Oct. 2007. I often wondered what was wrong with me at times. I've felt numb, have flash backs which I can't control, I feel like an outsider...like I do not belong anywhere, etc. My sister, who is a counselor, found this forum for me. |

| | Hi Ladybug, welcome to the forum. Many of us often don't feel we belong somewhere, but I guarantee (big word "guarantee") you will feel quite welcome and a sense of belonging here, as what you have others already understand. You no longer need to get people to understand because your talking to people who already understand as they have the same thing. How we get it is irrelevant, but the fact we suffer the same symptoms is the important part that joins us all together. |

| | Hi Ladybug, Well done to your sister for finding this site for you.
What a huge relief to come to know and sometimes even really feel, that we are not alone in this world and that Yes, We do belong. I've no problem relating to most frightening and intrusive flashbacks, feeling numb and all of PTSD and it's isolating symptoms. I suffer with PTSD, too.
Feel free to jump right in and get to reading and posting more when the time is right for you.
Again, Hello Ladybug, Glad you found us! And, Welcome to the Forum!

| | Hey, I say, I feel like the outsider looking in, that when we get ptsd we are blasted out into the stratosphere, and are the outsiders looking in, but if we look left and right, we will see the chain of others around us,,,,,,,,,,,,,,just look around the site, you'll find them.
welcome

| | Me too Hi ladybug,
I was just diagnosed, too, and can relate to your description of what it feels like. Hang in there. This site gives me a little hope, and I hope it does the same for you. --Shoshin |

| | Thanks Thank you for responding . I do have a couple of questions. Do any of your friends know that you have PTSD? If they do, how do they treat you? | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
