| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | |

| | Hi Ya'll - PTSD for 15 Years i'm simone, a new yorker, southern bred, living in dever. i was diagnosed with ptsd 15 years ago and i fought it like a champ. and then got on medication six or seven years ago, which helps. a bit.
my traumas are sex based and one major accident. i'm finally trying to move on to, for me, phase two of acceptance and symptom management. which is why i'm here. because i keep tripping up on ptsd, and i have a family now and i see myself exposing them, and that just won't do. i thought i was o.k but i got involved in a custody battle with my childs father, whom i have found out is a serial domestic violence offender, 18 charges in 8 years. and now i see he was a classic ptsd fear of intimacy mistake. and i am triggerin' like the wild wild west over here.
i've been alone with my ptsd for a long time, so now i'm coming out of the closet, and hopefully between you guys and my therapist i'll get some tools and whip this thing into shape. so,thanks. you'll see me on the succes stories thread a lot because i could use some inspiration. so glad i had the courage to find you guys. thanks. |

Welcome to the site. I'm sure that, like me, you will find it an inspiration and that it gives you lots of advice and support. It helps me to feel like I'm not on my own with this. This is a major step in the healing process... at least it is for me. You've come a long way in your healing already so well done.
