| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | | |

| | Hey Hello, And, Thank you ALL so Very, Very Much for your Wonderful words of Support. And, for those of you whom said a pray for me, Thank You So, So Much.
This morning didn't start out entirely as I guess I had expected. I sort of expected that my eye would not bother me so and heal quickly afterwards. Apparently, I've allowed myself to walk straight into this 'possibility for receiving treatment' for severe eye inflamation, while remaining clueless about certain surrounding psychol./trauma factors.
One corner of the wht. of my eye is thick with a bright, blood like jelly consistency. This initially did a huge number on me, ie. emot. distress/memory, further stress concurrent with head-trip and grief; the eye's appearance all still bothers me so, but there has been some improvement with both my ability to open it, and then later with my willingness to do so.
In addition, life around home here has been most stressful today; many, many factors! This thread continues to make me cry; I feel deeply appreciative of all your support;
It has brought me to some very real tears of gratitude for this forum and deep appreciation and gratitude toward all of us whom make possible the entire forum.
Thank you so much!
Hope |

| | My eye is improving in appearance as I can open it wide. The white being bloodied, well that's a different story; this will take time to heal. The valium they gave me so that they could perform the procedure has worn off, thank goodness. From this one-time experience that stuff and I don't agree. It mostly worked, but there is nothing like disagreeable, lousy side-effects.
I presume too that I got the eye-medication and not the placebo, due to the condition of my eyeball and a handful of other observations. One being that though my eye was under anestesia and numbed and so forth, I could still feel during the procedure, simultaneous to his drawing back his hand, the needle gently and painlessly sliding and withdrawing back outside of my eyeball.
Also at 11:20 this morning, I stood up and our room was bright. There was some color, clarity and details. In fact the room looked great. I reached up to my eyes certain I'd find my glasses on and they were off. I broke down into tears with surprise and joy. It lasted about 10 min. at which point the detail and clarity decreased slowly at first and then later returning mostly back to blur, lack of most all detail and a feeling of vagueness/nothingness.
I damn' hope I got that medicine, (2 out of 3 chances) bc, why else would my eye-ball be so injured and all red. |
