Avalon is on a distinguished road
Default Hello - PTSD from Work Experiences

Hi There,

I've not really been diagnosed with Complex PTSD as such, but it is what I experience. Like many others, I have a fairly complex clinical presentation.

I've been a child protection social worker for the past six, almost seven years.
I've experienced a great deal of vicarious, or secondary traumatization on the job. I've also experienced primary trauma as a result of work experiences with clients and as a result of mob bullying in my organization that took place over a period of several years, but culminated in some severe harassment last year.

I have the somewhat dubious experience of being a clinician (I've got my Masters of Social Work and have worked as a therapist), academic researcher & writer in this area of clinical practice and I personally experience Complex PTSD, depression and anxiety and the impacts of those things. I'm currently on disability and working on a treatment plan. I've come a long way from when I went off work, but have a long way to go.

I'm very excited to have found this website & can't believe it took me so long.

Thanks for the learning and support that is offered and I look forward to being part of this community.

*Avalon*

Avalon, welcome. I hope you find this forum helpful...I know I have.

BTW, I wouldn't characterize your work experience as dubious unless it's a hindrance to you rather than an asset.

Take care of you, tude
