Nope I definitely don't think all Americans are like Bush, far from it! I have lots of friends here who are American, and there's lots of things about the USA I like. You guys unfortunately just have a really bad administration right now, at least that's my opinion.

I agree with Morgan. I can't stand that we are at war still. It's causing so much pain and death.

I think the person who caused 9/11 should be tried and convicted but it needs to stop there.

I don't like the morals the current and past president have. I refuse to even vote now because of all the issues. If I did decide to vote I wouldn't be voting for Hillary because she is a woman and I wouldn't be voting for Obama because he is black.

I would vote for the honest one with morals and integrity. But I don't know if anyone that is running for office actually has those.

I used to vote and get interested in politics but not anymore and I'm really surprised I even commented on this post.

Peace
Tammy

Hey - Have at it and defend your country. 'twas a bit low to mention the no daft bit in WWII, it was. But I got to admit i just sense a bit of tension between the two N. American countries that ought to be working together.

The rest of the stuff I said still goes . . . US of A leads the way. You go first and we'll be right behind ya.

PS I wish Canadians would get that chip off their shoulders. The US of A saw enough of Canada the first and only time we ever tried to invade . . . . and we got our butts kicked. So rest easy Canada, eh.

Sweet, eh.

PS - Ah . .. . ya. I knew where New Mexico was, eh. But where is Arizona and Texas. Okay then, I Google Earth'ed ya. And I see'em. Hey, isn't that part of the country we ripped off from Mexico. Bloody American's always jerking people around. Ho . . . I guess we bought the Mississippi basin from France (that was a good deal then), after French ripped it off from Spain, after Spain ripped it off from the indigenous population. Bloody French and Spanish, always rippin' people off. Yo . . . the British were involved in some serious ripping off to, eh. I guess that don't count thought . . . just what rippin' off has occurred in what the last 50 years. So the land the Canadians ripped off from their indigenous population doesn't count. Good luck there.

Quite frankly all of this is bull shit. Why the **** bring it up is beyond me as most of the forum is not of the USA and could much rather piss on it than defend it. So why even acknowledge poo poo remarks from those no where near here? So our insurance sucks boo frigging hoo. Refer to us as arrogant but then later say oh not you (though referred to as a whole) just your gov, like that is not a **** you. We had shit leveled recently (9/11 is recent). Canadians never wished us harm I heard though some say we are arrogant HERE but never wished harm anywhere.

So who gives a shit what they think? Work on us. "Sorry" my arrogant American view. You know obviously they either are not upset by others, not their country men, having their heads slowly hacked off by those who did attack innocent Americans and children... Babies and toddlers die. Babies did die. Christians are having heads sawed off. So OK... Saddam was not the ring leader. I am still lead to believe he did help some even if not as much as thought. You know what I do not give a shit. If he had a part we fiddle ****ed around too long. If you play a part in killing my fellow Christians and Americans our only **** up is waiting so long to turn some certain areas into glass. When it comes down to your kids or mine... Your are toast. Have a nice day and please drive through.

But with the liberal BS about to be elected in I have no worries, we will question people over frigging tea and toast. You know water boards are out... Do not wanna hurt feeling so we cannot publish a cartoon of some certain person. Man I hope they spread chocolate on the murderers asses we have to lick as no one seems to get what our foreign policy is turning into by these frigging PETA style politics.

Again, sure insurance needs help but who really gives a **** about it when it comes to that or you girl wearing a veil and has no HUMAN rights????? Priorities and some do not seem to get we are being targeted for a lifestyle and religious change or be killed. Umm hello. So we are to sit around and stick our thumbs up are ass?

Someone sounds like they had CRABBY CAKE for breakfast.....

I am from the US, and this is my 2 cents. Our government in my opinion is arrogant. We try and stuff our beliefs, religion, thoughts, laws and everything else down the throats of others. We try and change everything about them, their culture, and their beliefs, when in reality they have been living like this for thousands of yrs. Long before we were the United States.

Do I agree with their live style, laws, religion, beliefs????? No, but it's none of my business either.

I feel Iraq is not our war, but I do believe that we went into Afghanistan with a purpose and we have let that slide for Iraq. 9/11 altered my world, I hated it, It has haunted me for 7 yrs, we should have gotten the job done by now.

We didn't so now our boys/women suffer for it. End of my rant.

Well said She Cat. Those of us in western society need to quit expecting the rest of the world to believe and live as we do. Gets us into trouble time and again. Am a Christian myself, but certainly don't subscribe to the belief that it's my way or the highway.

Yep Canada definitely did harm to our aboriginal population. And don't forget how we treated our Japanese citizens during WW2. Shameful. However. America doesn't exactly have a pristine past itself. Slavery comes to mind for one. Christ we could go back and forth with the cheap shots all day long. No country is without its flaws. But what's the point? Just creates hard feelings on both sides. And. Many here, including yours truly, have loved ones currently serving in Iraq, Afghanistan or elsewhere. Frankly don't see how this discussion helps matters. Only makes us all feel worse in my humble opinion.

Jim.

There's no doubt in my mind that the US needs to do much more to foster international cooperation. Perhaps it's idealistic but I believe it's possible. At least it's worth a try. IMO our current administration is arrogant.

On the other hand it seems to me that we are criticized no matter what we do. I believe we are expected to maintain our military might and help others when asked. That costs a lot of money at a time when people are losing their homes at an alarming rate. IMO our economy is tanking. We are criticized for not spending enough money in the fight against aids, yet we have millions of uninsured Americans without access to health care. Many of our leaders tell us there isn't money to fix the problem. How will the world react if we back off and start taking care of our own? I for one do not want my country to be perceived as a bully; it's costly (in many ways). But I wonder if other countries would step up to the plate or engage in the "blame game". After all isn't that what politics is all about?

Like most things in life there are no simple answers and many facets to be considered. We can't have cooperation and understanding without communication. If we can't do that here what are we expecting from our leaders?

I am not overly political, and I live in the USA. However, I have many friends living as our neighbor to the north and they are lovely people. I too believe that we should never have gone to Iraq, and believe further that we need to return to Afghanastan as its supposedly getting bad there again, we kind of need to finish what we started there. I also feel that we should exaust some of our resources and have more Peacekeepers sent to Darfur. I saw this on the forum the other day, but we are willing to put hours of Britney on the news but how often do we hear of the genocide in Darfur. I am just plain sick. I also believe our commander and chief is an idiot and very dangerous. Don't get me started on this, I also have major issues with the Pope. Grrrrr.....

Interesting about the Pontiff Portabella. I also have issues with him. Don't me started either. ;-)
