| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | |

| | Battling the Flu Hi to all. I haven't been around in a little while because I have been battling the flu (I think it is the flu).
Severe-severe headache, feels like someone punched me in the stomach and extreme exhaustion. Spent last week in bed-the entire week, and today is the first day out and about. Still rather weak, but making an effort.
Anyone else experience the same symptoms? I had a couple of friends tell me that I didn't have the flu. BS-they should have been in my head and stomach. Anyway, also heard that the flu lasts anywhere from 2-3 weeks (if you aren't careful and don't come back slowly).
I called the doctor's office, and his receptionist wouldn't give me any information unless I went into his office. I was too freaking sick to get out of bed, and all I wanted to know was what I should do, and how long it would last-and the bimbo wouldn't let me speak to anyone. This is the second time this has happened with this doctor. I gotta start looking for a new one.
Anyway, for anyone else out there suffering this season with the flu, or whatever the hell it was that I had-drink plenty of fluids and sleep.
Good Luck

| | Sorry to hear you are sick Nor. I hope you feel better soon. My whole family had a bad flu a few weeks ago. I'm not sure if there's anything going around for us right now, but at that time, half the people we knew had it. It was a really bad one like you described, and we were all ill for over a week. Anyways, take care and get lots of rest. |

| | Sorry to hear that you have been feeling so unwell. It certainly sounds like flu, in which case there is not much you can do, except ride it out. Keep drinking plenty of fluids and try paracetamol for a fever and the aches and pains. Continue getting plenty of rest and try not to do too much too soon.
Wishing you well for a speedy recovery |

| | Hi Nor,
Sorry that you aren't feeling good. I'm not sure if it's the flu. Flu is high fever, cold like symptoms, and body aches. I would advise that if you don't feel better soon, it may be time to see your Dr.
Feel better soon... |
