| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | | |

| | Question About Posts Going Off Topic I tried to post this in the "about the forum" section, because I think it might belong more in there, but apparently I don't have permission to create a new thread in there? Anyways, I have a question about posting off topic in a thread. I know generally we aren't supposed to do it. But what about if you are doing it in a thread that you started yourself? For example, my thread about nightmares has gone way off topic but it was my own doing really. Am I still supposed to be trying to avoid that though? Thanks. |

| | Yes, we should all "try" and avoid taking a thread off topic, even our own. We all do it, yes; though we must try to recognise our act and change our own course of action by creating a new thread and reference the existing one that created the thought, etc. If any member wants their thread split because they feel it has gone off topic, by their doing or another's, just PM me and I will process it. |

But since we are staying on topic, then aren't we not staying with the topic of this thread? In which case then we actually are staying on topic? |

| | I was being serious, I was worried about going off topic. I wish I never asked. Now I feel stupid again, just like I did in the other thread. |

Evie, from reading your posts it is evident that you are far, far from stupid. What I read from you is eloquent, insightful, and rather brave. I found this thread to be a very considerate effort on your part. |
