| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | |

| | New Here - PTSD For a Long Time Hi. Not real sure about being on the website. I have fought with PTSD for a long time. Sometimes I wonder when it will be over. Had the website sent to me, so I thought I would at least give it a chance. |

| | safe? How safe is it here to discuss personal issues? I am struggling right now...effecting every part of my life. I am in therapy and really trying. Recently was in a situation to face my "demon." I am a bit uncomfortable talking not knowing how serious/safe the forum is.

| | If you're concerned about a safe place, I would recommend starting in the "Trauma Diaries" section. "Trauma Private" is only viewable by Anthony and one other person. "Trauma Members" is only viewable by registered members of the website.
The people here tend to be very supportive and understanding. Usually we only get into debates in the "Chat" section, and the debates are usually about politics or the validity of research and diagnostic tools. No one here will tell you to "get over it" or invalidate your feelings, for example. Also the site is heavily moderated for your protection... |

| | Hi Jess,
I have been with this forum for a few months. I personally don't disclose my real name and where I live, some people have. You don't have to offer any info you feel uncomfortable with. Enjoy and don't worry.
