Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now.

Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year.

Default Complex PTSD For 7 Years
hello there,

my name is D. I am in Canada right now and have been suffering a form of Complex PTSD for 7 years now... I jumped into save an off duty police officer who was brutally attacked by a group of thugs. I went to intervene and was then brutally attacked and was knocked out laying face down with one of the thugs repeatedly jumping on the back of my head with both feet. Yeah I know reall tough guys...anyway the doctors overlooked this issue for 2 years for anxiety and depression...yeah right when i clearly stated i was having graphic nightmares, hardly sleeping and losing weight and waking to a pool of sweat in my fackn own bed!! pardon my language... I found iI never gave up on myself and continued looking for serious treatment but found that psychiatrists in our medical feid over here to be a little apprehensive in helping me or one who suffers from ptsd..anyway i am in desparate need of change and seriously want to help others and take courses..i originally went to school for paramedic and fire fighting.. I know i am an honourable man and a no bull shit guy!! when someone is in a vunerable position and need help i could not bare to watch someone get severly beat or killed for that matter no mater if they were shooting their mouth off a bit for that reason...i am very frustrated in the fact that my efforst in trying to be a good samaritan have not been recognized and my dreams and goals have been taken away from me....what hurts the most is at 24 when i was on a fire dept volunteering my cheif said to me "Dave you are gonna make one hell of a captain one day"....i cannot give up on this dream although i am 31 i rolled my vehicle 4 times in 2004 when i had to go to court and testify against one of these thugs that was pleading innocent and i couldnt figure out why i rolled my vehicle..well i gapped out and dissociated..i wasnt sleeping and by age 27 I looked death right in the fackn eye twice!!!

i know i am here for a reason and i am thankful for my life..i want to help others!! and need to get away i just recently finished the liegal art of all this b.s. and was robbed..but i have to move on...
