| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | |

| | Just a Simple Intro - Childhood Trauma Hello all,
I will share a brief history; I have childhood trauma from several sources: I lost my mom to a traumatic accident at a very young age and both before and after that experienced a lot of chaos and maltreatment by adults, some of which was sexual in nature. I have been in therapy for a long time, and I have made a lot of progress in certain areas, but my adolescence and young adult years were extremely chaotic and rife with abusive relationships. I have two kids from one of those relationships, and that man has been very hard to get rid of and still manages to exert some control over my life via my children. I am in a good, stable relationship now for 2+ years with a man with a similar history to my own and a very similar approach to therapy and healing and for the past several months I have been feeling very good about life, have started school again, haven't been sick or had any major episodes of PTSD related symptoms.
Suddenly a few days ago I started having incredibly severe symptoms, which I think I will go into more detail about elsewhere, and I am feeling like I need to reach out and find more support. This seems like a good group. |
