| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | |

| | Angry I Am I'm new here and have only done a little reading. I have PTSD and I'm currently undergoing a very progressive treatment for it. I think the treatment is working but I like to give things time to...wait and see before giving it my star of approval. I think of myself as a pretty smart person but I had no idea what to expect from this board and as I started to read a few posts that unknowing was reinforced by what i read. I've not really "identified" myself with the posts I've read so far - I'll give it some time.

| | Hello Angry I Am,
I am curious, what is the progressive treatment you are receiving for ptsd?? My boyfriend (who is currently an ex ~ he pushed me away) needs better treatment. He goes to the VA (he is a former Army officer) and I don't think they are giving him the most up to date or best treatment. It seems they mostly just give them medications.
Thanks for any help.

| | Hello, & Welcome AngryIAm! .....Just curious what are you hoping to identify with, ie. specific trauma or (s), level of intelligence, PTSD, treatment path, or what?
If it's PTSD, then I can't imagine where that would at all be hard to do. It's everywhere here, and PTSD sucks IMHO; I don't like it! I among thousands others, just got stuck living with it.
