| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | |

| | New as Dust - 30 Years of Traumatic Experiences Hello my name is dust.
I have been visiting the forum on and off over the past year and have finally made my first post. I am currently having treatment for PTSD (CBT 1 year/EMDR 6 months). This is for a range of traumatic experiences occuring over the past 30 odd years. Like most, there are good days and bad days, positive and negative thoughts. At this moment I am having difficulty finding/maintaining my support network out here in the world, so thought I would try the forum. I CAN speak about my trauma now and have (hopefully) got the whole map in place, but feel the need to ease myself into the forum first, so apologies for being less than candid in this post!

| | Thank you both for your replies - it is good to be here! I think I'll have a mooch around the site and see what I can find that might be helpful for now. I'm interested in sharing information about coping with the myriad of symptoms on a very practical level and also chatting to anyone with experience of alternative therapies for PTSD (both yoga and acupuncture trigger flashbacks) particularly homeopathy and diet + supplements - damn, my body needs some support, it's falling apart!
