| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | | |

| | I Finally Started Talking in Therapy It may sound minor but I'm really thrilled. Up to now I've been dissociating nearly constantly and so communication has been extremely limited. I feel like I'm finally starting to get somewhere, and that I'm on the road headed in a positive direction. |

Good for you!!!!!!
OK, so how did you do it? Please share!
Dissociation is a bit of a problem for me. I'm learning to identify and override it, but it's a bit hit & miss.
Do tell. |

| | Hi Awakening- I think time is probably a real factor. Also, I mentioned how extremely frustrated I was with not being able to communicate, and so we started focusing on that. Dissociation is still a problem- don't get me wrong, but I was present more than not. |

| | Thanks you guys! It's not easy, but the feeling of forward movement is pretty great... And I figure if I can now talk about things, then it must be at least possible to talk about things, which it wasn't before, at then they'll start to get better. |

| | I still have trouble with talking and I am new here. Is this what disasocitating means? I have little or no trust in nobody. I am scared.
