| |  For All You Clean Freaks!
I know there are a few of us on here who are obsessive about cleaning. One of my biggest peeves is dirty grout, which I can never seem to get as clean as I'd like.
WELL, I've found a miracle! If you mix baking soda and hydrogen peroxide together to make a paste (personally, I like mine of medium consistency), let the mixture soak on the grout for a few minutes, take a firm bristled cleaning brush and scrub, then wipe off with warm water- you will see the cleanest grout, ever! (and all very inexpensive.)
Anyway, just thought I'd share.

Thanks for the tip. Question: Is there a way to get pen marks off of a coffee table? My neighbor's two year old was over and she drew on my white IKEA coffee table. I don't know what material to call it...it's like a white veneer over pressed wood. I tried using those Mr. Clean magic eraser things, but it's still there. |

first try bleach
second try nail polish remover but test it first on a spot not visible to the eye to be sure it doesn't wreck the finish.
also, sometimes, baby oil will remove things |

My sweetheart is a neat freak. I'm not, but I do try. :)
One amazing cleaner that has saved the day for me countless times is citrus based solvent cleaners. They are sold under several brand names, but all are pretty much the same, I think. The one I've used mostly is called something like CitruSolve. I have used it to remove road tar from a champaign colored carpet. It also removed melted crayon from car upholstery. Like any other powerful cleaner, be sure to test it in an inconspicuous spot first. |

I know hairspray removes ink from clothing but I don't know if it will help with furniture. |

One m ore possible way to remove that ink. I know that if you soak cloth in milk over night you can even get out magic maker. I had a sharpie leak in my pocket, I soaked it over night and in the moring the ink wasd gone after a brief light rub and rinse.

My ex was a tile guy (his trade) and he taught me a trick about grout in showers or backstops for sinks. Wipe it down with a dry cloth immediately after use. You will not get mold, mildew or guck build up and you will add years to the grout life.
