The environmental engineering gig would have been a shift, as it has some construction management aspects and exists in the civil engineering world (meaning I would need to get a PE license). The job I'm leaning towards is consulting/contract work, more along the lines of product engineering and manufacturing. I'm a Mechanical Engineer and I have experience in that area, so it's a good fit. Also a much better location.

Location is very important!

Easy commute, lunch places, tolls, parking, safe environment, ....

Bonus would be a park close by to go out to eat lunch in the sunshine!

Keep us in the loop about your transition and what transpires about the other aspect from your former company if you choose to file the complaint.

Your are a good person to take that risk for the benefit of others.
