| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | | |

| | I Get to Take Riding Lessons I am so excited!! I get to take riding lessons. All of my life I have wanted to learn to ride but life and PTSD always seemed to get in the way.
But a couple of days ago I spotted an add on Craigslist for lessons. Now this add was not much different then all of the others that have popped up (must be the oncoming nice whether) and that I have looked at with an aching heart and then passed over. But something told me I should look into it.
I sent an email on Wednesday and Maggie (the lady offering the lessons) called me back yesterday. I was able to return her call today and we had a nice little chat. She has spots open for Wed, Thurs, and Fridays.
I am going to talk to B later and see witch day works out best for him (to drive me out there) and then the fun part...I get to talk to the supervisor who does the schedule and request to get off early on whatever day we decide works best. The boss lady won't be happy but since I work OT every week I figure she can let me take off a couple hours early one day a week. |

| | Great news Jet. Our family are horse people, had a horse for our daughter whilst in Canada and considering getting her another now that we are overseas. Riding is a terrific morale boost.

| | I can't wait!!! I am so excited I can barely stand it. I have always...for as long as I can remember wanted ride and be around horses. Life just never afforded me the opportunity.
I still can't quite believe I actually called. Usually I put stuff like that off. I have a horrible time talking on the phone. And I don't really ever do stuff for me. So it would have been easy to let it go...and she had the perfect spot open Wed at 4:00pm. Wed is B's only day off.
I still have to talk to the supervisor who does the scheduling. I don't really think that she is going to be happy. But I work OT every week as part of my regular schedule and have consistanly worked 10 - 25 hours a week OT for months. I think they can let me have 3 hours off a week. We have an employee meeting on Sunday and out account manager will be there. I am going to let them know then. Basically just gong to turn in a special request form telling them I can no longer work on Wednesdays after 3:00pm. Boss lady will probably grumble and complain (that is pretty much what she does all of the time) and I will no longer be on her good side. But that is ok...I can live with that. :)
Blessings and Blosoms,

| | Thanx Jim. I am really excited. Could not be happening at a better time either. Monday and Tuesday are my youngest girls birthdays and although I have gotten past the point where I sink into a deep depression (and I do things to distract myself) it is still kinda hard to be happy. This gives me something to look forward to as opposed to look back on, if that makes any sense.
On another note I am glad to hear that Evie is doing so well and also that Kathy is feeling better.
Oops...gotta run. Have to take my dog out, she is pestering me.
