| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | |

| | Forum Rules Change With the growth of this forum and its continued future growth, it is becoming more and more prevalent with those who want to disrupt or cause havoc within the community. Whilst I have been tolerable beforehand, I am becoming less and less tolerable with this as it increases to grow within the forum. The WWW has a name for these people, often labelled as "trolls", who are people who move into online communities to cause disruption, just to go against the grain so to speak. If the forum endorses yellow, these people want another colour, as an example. They could have gone to the other coloured community to begin with, but they don't want to do that because that doesn't serve their purpose or disruption.
So from now on going forward, whilst I am more than happy to view opinions and let people just say what they feel, end of the day this forum is about PTSD and those who have it, care for it and are here for one purpose, to help themselves heal from it. It is not a chit chat site to just hang when your lonely.... it is for healing and that is it.
From now forward, I will simply moderate any member who wants to be a disruption, wants to constantly challenge any member over and above what is reasonable.... the forum has guides for a purpose, to keep disruption to a minimum. I will now enforce these guides to a much stricter standard because the forum is just getting far to much growth which needs to be kept in line accordingly. |

| | I agree totally Anthony. I had actually tried to post again on the thread from hell but you had closed it.
There has been not only strong disagreement, but way too much attacking going on also. We all have our own opinions, but we all need to remember that they are ours, and not everyone will adapt to them,
This is a place full of hurt, and pain. We need to remember that we are here to get help, to give help, and not hinder someones healing. In attacking we hurt. When a persons attacks another it's because of something within themselves that they need to look at. It has NOTHING to do with the person being attacked. But it damages the person being attacked. There are ways of saying something WITHOUT attacking another. It's called being tactful and sensitive to others!!!!!
We need to remember that we are here to help, offer advice, give direction. Not everyone will be receptive to our help, or advice, so we need to just let it go. We are all different, with different wounds, that have come together for a united purpose....To heal!!!!!
Please can we just stop all of the bickering, fighting and attacking and learn that we are all human with faults.... |

| | It's sad that a group of supposed mature adults cannot be together without someone to be playground monitor. Mutual respect goes a long way and practicing it is something that most here do. Too bad we have those folks I call 'pot stirrers'. People who are only happy when things are stirred up and people are at each other's throats. I've found that those are ones who are unhappy and if they can make others around them unhappy...then they're not alone and they're ok.
Heaven knows we all have enough crap in our lives with just living life. Add PTSD into the mix and we have more than our fair share o'shit. Having folks trying to add their garbage (for their amusement/vindication/boredom/etc.) is something I don't have the time or desire for. Damn shame someone has to waste their time policing these folks.
Anyway...thanks Anthony, for continuing to keep the forum someplace I can visit and not have to worry. Sorry you got stuck with the duty.
And that finishes my morning rant.

| | Thanks... it really was much easier when smaller, but now it gets so much attention, it is becoming harder to maintain in that area.... so I figure the simple thing is to just tighten the rope and give less breathing room in the space of disagreements. If its not about you, if its not about a response of merit to another member, it has likely little place here from here on out. |
