| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | | |

| | this is an abstract poem i wrote a few years ago. it doesnt have any particular form, it was just something that came to me in a moment of deep reflection.
"spiders shadows erupt into cinema
laid out for our eyes, for our minds, for our hearts.
frown on me forever, so we can dance in this holocaust,
and celebrate in nuclear winter. does our dignity hang by a thread?
if so, is it a thread we hold for ourselves?
animals find warmth in our cavities, tears drop like bombs,
and dynamite bruises our stomachs."
thinking back, this is something i wrote when i was having alot of nightmares about the world trade center attacks. though i didnt intentionally write it about that, thats probably what it was inspired from. sorry if this upset anyone.

| | Looking at cat photos on the web tonight and I got inspired!!! As follows: Bob in Black
Your eyes held dark
but sparkles
Four footed
but tailless
Quick on your feet
Right on my lap
Right in my heart |

| | Lessons in Nature i wrote this on the way home last night in the twilight.
i write for me, but i hope someone will enjoy it.
Lessons in Nature
As the wheat lifts its head to You…
Each day in prayer, I should too.
As trees lift leafy boughs in praise…
So I should praise You all my days.
As sun bestows much-needed light…
I should shine Your love day and night.
As flowers turn toward the sun…
So I should seek the Holy One.
As rain cleanses the air we breathe…
God will cleanse the witness I leave.
As dark clouds bring us life through rain…
So heartache brings us love through pain. |

| | At the Throne of God At the Throne of God
Hear the thunder roar,
See the light’ning flash
Hear the voice of God,
Many waters crash.
Sense the holiness,
Fall down on your face.
You’re in Heaven now.
You have run your race.
See the saints about
Walk on golden strands.
See them praising God,
Lifting holy hands.
At the throne of God
Hear the angels sing.
Voices felt, not heard…
As they serve the King.
Feel unworthiness
As you bow so low,
Christ calls, “Come, you’re home”
And the thunder rolls. |

| | a kindergarten poem for my boys--Dragons Dragons
Ah dragons, yes, the lore of old,
Were fought by valiant knights so bold.
Many a wicked tale was told
Of fiery breath and hearts so cold.
Oh my! Dragons, how they did fly,
And raid tall towers up so high,
As wings unfurled across the sky,
With glints of evil in their eye.
They flew fair maidens to their dens,
To keep them there ‘til “who knows when?”
Strong, brave knights came in suits of tin
To rescue damsels home again.
Many young knights slay dragons still…
All in dreams, but they seem so real.
So strong and brave these young knights feel,
And gather laurels for the kill. |

| | Flowers Fade--(the cycle of life) ok, i quit hogging for a while.
Flowers Fade
Flowers fade,
Trees fall,
Clouds change,
Winds call.
Youth fades,
Hopes fall,
Things change,
Memories call.
Dreams fade,
Tears fall,
People change,
Death calls. |

| | Where Love Once Grew Where Love Once Grew
Where native children played
With marbles made of clay…
Now factories line up,
Belching smog all day.
Where people once grew crops,
And tended dairy farms…
Now grow rows of houses,
No crops, no trees, no barns.
Where forests once did grow,
And their adventures give…
Now buildings touch the sky,
And nothing green still lives.
Where neighbors once did speak,
And folks were all polite…
Now people push and swear,
Hurting others for spite.
Where love once grew in hearts,
Now selfishness abounds…
But hearts can be renewed,
Where Christ’s great love is found.

| | wildflowers Wildflowers
Wildflowers bloom amongst the weeds
Where fence-rows meet a country road.
God’s hand can make such ugliness
Into rare beauty to behold.
Butterflies dance a sweet ballet…
While buzzing bees provide the song.
Flowers seem to hum the chorus,
And the butterflies float along.
Close your eyes and remember now
The scent of grass warmed by the sun…
Perfume worn by the breeze, it seems
As soft, white clouds begin to run.
Swaying trees cool a shady place
To renew in times of stress,
Where we can speak our love to God,
And tired hearts our LORD will Bless.

| | So Many More So Many More
The fullness of this earth has come.
Its time now, harvest has begun.
The Master’s fruit was picked in haste,
But so much more was laid to waste.
The time to reap has come so fast.
Time for sowing has been long past.
So much fruit, now useless and dead…
So many more could have been fed.
My heart cries for the tragedy…
Is it because I did not see?
Am I the one that did so shirk,
Too busy for the Master’s work?
Forgive my selfishness, dear LORD…
As others, I did not afford
The time to sow Your love in them…
So they could grow into Your Plan.
