| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | | |

| | Mary's Heart (reworked) Mary’s Heart
In tiny, sleeping Bethlehem,
So crowded by Herod’s census,
Mary gave birth to the Holy One,
Who was come now, to redeem us.
She remembered angelic words,
Too wonderful to contain,
That this Babe was the Messiah,
Emmanuel would be his name.
Mary’s heart must have been troubled,
As she loved her little one so,
Knowing He’d not be hers for long…
This Great King, where cattle did low.
Announcements were made by angels,
Telling poor shepherds the story…
Glory burst forth in the night sky,
Multitudes sang of His glory.
The shepherds came in a hurry,
Desiring their Savior to see…
A wonderful confirmation
That He was the Babe on her knee. |

Desiderta
Go placidly amid the noise and the haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far a possible, without surrender,
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even to the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons;
they are vexatious to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain or bitter,
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in you own career, however humble;
It is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs,
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals,
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love,
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,
it is perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth,
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and lonliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be a peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life,
keep peace in your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

| | Something I Would Like to Share With the Group This is a poem that I knew about for a long time. It is what I tell my children every night. This poem for some reason has given me comfort. Also there is a website called Post Secret. You make a home made postcard with your secret and even though you tell your secret, nobody will ever know. Some are bad some are good but they are shared.
I have done this and somehow I felt like I unburdoned myself of some of the weight from my shoulders. Its something to consider. Here is the poem.

| | I wrote this poem for my son's graduation.
The day you were born it was apparent to see that we would be inseparable, just you and me.
I’ve watched you grow up from baby to young man, and don’t ever forget I’m your biggest fan.
My fondest memories are of you and me together, it was always a blast what ever we would endeavor.
All of the crossroads and adventures that we’ve been through just made us wiser and stronger, as we both grew.
Now you are graduating and will have to adjust, things will seem strange at first, but you’ll adapt easily I trust.
I have bestowed a lot of insight and knowledge to take with you, and pray this transformation will not change your view.
Remember to trust in God no matter what may arise, He’s the one that paid your dues, and will always answer your cries.
One last thing I never want you to forget I have always been proud of you, and will remain your safety net.

I just need, somehow, to be free
Of this person haunting me.
When sadness comes and I’m alone,
She creeps in with her heart of stone.
She whispers memories in my ear…
Of things I cannot bear to hear,
Wraps them tightly around my heart
And squeezes ‘til I fall apart.
She calls me names, both true and cruel…
An ugly, dirty worthless fool.
I sink ‘til I can drop no more,
As I lay, praying, on the floor.
I’m just so tired now, of strife
And she taunts me to end my life.
I put it off, as best I can…
‘Til I find rest in God’s safe hand.

| | in the medst of a crowd In the Midst of a Crowd
In the midst of a crowd…
I’m alone.
My heart feels so unreal…
Cut from stone.
This world seems so foreign…
Not my home.
No penance I would do…
Will atone.

| | I'm not sure either, but if you google it, there is some information on how to get it started.
I can't post a live link but in google there is a bunch of information on how to get a patent started. It might take a lot of digging, but I wouldn't try to persuade you to pursue this if I didn't think your poems were excellent. Some one could come in here and see them and sell them as their own.
