| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | | |

| | Cookie, This is my first attempt at talking with someone other than Anthony. Am very new to this and new to using computers in general. I wanted to tell you that your poem was wonderful. It paints a great picture of what depression feels like. You have talent! |

| | Peaceful, Quiet, No Worries What is wrong? my husband asks
Nothing- is my reply
He's worried because I've been so quiet
Quiet is good - is my reply
We share a special bond he and I
a No Bullshit Contract from day one
It's been my saving grace as of late
it's better to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission
So truly when I say nothing is wrong and I'm feeling quiet
that is the truth
both simple and complicated
I have peace in my mind which is new to me
No TV, no radio, only the sound of my breath
the slumber of the sleeping dogs
the purr of the cat in my lap
peaceful, quiet, no worries
I cherish this feeling knowing full well
tomorrow is another day, another battle
what will set me off I wonder
Will I handle it with grace |

| | He Holds Me Here this one's kind of down, but it's a feeling that many of understand.
He Holds Me Here
When my soul cries out for home
On this earth no more to roam;
When sorrow o'erwhelms my heart
From this world I would depart.
Freedom from this pain I'll feel
Strange that it's no longer real.
Self-important I've become....
This body's tired, my mind is numb.
Children and my husband dear
Only their love keeps me here.
I don't want to hurt them so,
But to my LORD would I go.
Feeling that I'm left behind...
Nothing here can ease my mind.
I've wasted much these last years,
Crying vain and pointless tears.
But, surrendered to God's will
On this earth, He holds me still. |

| | For My Sin He Planned i know i'm being hoggy, i can't help it , this poetry stuff is new to me, and i don't know what else to do with it.
For My Sin He Planned
The LORD God Almighty
I worship in awe.
He spans the universe,
While I am so small.
He is the great "I Am"
So mighty is He.
How does He love someone
As wretched as me?
He knew that I would fail
Ere the world was formed.
Looked down and saw this child
Sinful and forlorned.
He left the throne of Heav'n
And became as man.
Knowing how He'd suffer,
For my sin He planned.
Dying upon the cross,
Then to rise anew.
He redeemed all mankind,
Though we'd be so few. |

| | Naptime (last one today, i promise) this one is just because i teach kindergarten. you have to write about what you know!
Naptime
Mats down,
Gather round
For a story first.
Lights out!
Don't pout!
Yes, we'll quench your thirst.
Off shoes
Let's snooze
Lying on the floor.
Settle down
Blankets 'round
Quietly shut the door.
Softly snore
Minutes more
Til we'll wake again.
Oh dear!
Mother's here!
Fold your mats and then...
No doubt,
School's out!
Grab your lunchbox, too!
No sorrow
Come tomorrow,
We'll begin anew. |

| | End of Autumn Only 1 today, i promise.
End of Autumn
Autumn breezes gently whisper
Through the multicolored trees,
Breathing, "Winter's coming soon now."
"Few are the days like these."
Soft clouds meander lazily
Across a deep blue sky.
Speak gentle breezes yet again,
"Get ready, winter's nigh!"
Leaves parachuting from the heights
Then dancing, swirling down.
Showing off their vibrant colors
While they can still be found.
Acorns leaping from their perches
So high amidst the boughs.
Looking for a place to winter.
And in the spring to grow.
Soft breezes turn to chilling winds.
Skies turn from blue to gray.
Lazy clouds begin to hurry,
Comes the first winter day! |
