Default Hello - Trauma From Years Ago

Hi everyone,

I came across this forum from a Google search and would like to introduce myself. I experienced a traumatic event 7 years ago and have realized this past weekend that I have never dealt with or processed what happened. I also realized this weekend that the effects of this event are affecting my current relationships and will continue to do so until I receive some help. I am about to lose the love of my life and realize now he may be leaving due to issues that are caused by this event many years ago.

I am going to my first therapy appointment tomorrow and I'm not exactly sure what to expect from it. I thought this might be a good place to start and/or a supplement to healing.

nickname,
Welcome! Just take one step at a time. Read some of the posts on this forum and that should help put you at ease as to many others have had simiular traumas. Hopefully, your therapist is good and understanding and compassionate. You will have to play that by ear for awhile. I have seen many and had 3 good ones. Two moved away so I am sticking with the latest.

Hello everyone, I have only just found this forum, I was involved in over 20 Traumatic incidents in 2 years, I worked in the essential services so it was a regular occurence, most things have been dealt with but there a few remaining symptoms I have to work on and solve, which I am determined to do. It is a long long story but after 10 years there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
