| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | |

| | My Doctor Called in Sick Again VENT
Ok, once again my doctor called in sick on a Friday (3rd time in 3 months) and guess what happened...... I didn't get all of my medication AGAIN!!!!!!
I was bitching about this last month and about 3 months ago.
I'm going to ask him if he is sick with a terminal illness or if he likes skipping out on Fridays. He specifically told me he would take care of my medications so I didn't have to deal with that nurse.
Luckily last Monday I called and left a message to the nurse for one medication that needs a 5 day notice on it, and I specifically told her that I had an appointment on Friday with my doc, but he may call in sick.
OH YA, I got that prescription, but it was all screwed up to where I have 2 of the exact same medications in different dosages. One is of 10mg and the other 20 mg which will cost me 2 co-pays. WTF!!!!! All I needed was a 30mg pill not a 20mg and a 10mg pill. That is sooo stupid and I want to scream.
So I am not getting that filled because I rescheduled for an appointment on Tuesday and will give that pointless prescription back to him and ask for the 30mg pill, that is just one co-pay. In the meantime I have to wait until Monday for the other 2 prescriptions that I didn't get.
I don't understand why this has to be so damn complicated. This could be really bad if I was severely disturbed to where I could flip out like a schizophrenic when they don't get their haldol.
No need to reply I feel like bitching about it because it's getting to the point of insanity on their part.

| | Sorry about your dr! That's not cool.
Does the medication you get come in a 30mg tab? When a dr. writes a prescription for a dose the pill dos'nt come in, the pharmacy needs to fill it with 2 strengths that equal the strength the prescription was written for (if the other strengths add up correctly that is). If that's the case, tell your dr and he should be able to come up with something else to avoid the 2 copays which sucks big time!! Have you taken it before?
Memorial Day is coming up (if youre in the US??) so I'de get everything taken care of (if anything) before that if he's so unpredictable.
Take Care!!

| | Tammy,
Maybe in the grand scheme of things in this vast universe........It's trying to tell you to get off all medication so that you don't have to deal with this shit any longer, the rude nurse, and your Dr that seems to enjoy 3 day weekends......
Other than that.....Take deep breaths, count to 100 and vent, vent, vent!!!!!!! |

| | Hi cypher and She Cat,
Cyper - Yes the medication comes in a 30mg pill. I have an appointment with him on Tuesday to give back the prescription I have, and get him to re-do it so I only have one co-pay.
She Cat- As far as your thoughts on getting off of medication. I believe that you are correct. Not only is the universe telling me this, I've been preaching it to myself as well. However, I'm stuck and I need to free myself of it. I know in time I will, but I'm not ready yet (It's complicated). Maybe it will take an act of God or something to make me do it?
My body is addicted to Adderall and I've been trying to lower my dosage to wean myself off of it, because cold turkey (which I could do) scares me with the mention of stroke and heart attacks associated with going that route.
Thanks for pointing that out, it validates what I knew on a subconscious level.

| | Humm...interesting. Well it's good youre going back to get it right!
Good luck tapering off the meds, whenever that might be! Adderall is hard to come off of. (like I even need to say that, geesh)
