Default Not All Doctors Are Bad!

I wasn't exactly sure where to put this because it's not necessarily a success story and it's not necessarily about PTSD, so I figured this would be the best place to share my good news.

I've been seeing my Therapist once every two weeks because, for the time being, my insurance company will not pay for my sessions because I had a lapse in coverage and my PTSD is considered a "pre-existing" condition. I've been paying him out of pocket and all we can afford right now is the every other week session.

My T on Tuesday offered me free sessions so that he can see me every week. I will continue to pay him what I've been paying but he will pull money from what he calls his "scholarship fund" to pay for the weeks for which I'm unable to pay. It is not something that I have to pay back.

I'm so grateful!! There really are some good doctors out there who care about their patients.

I am so glad to hear this. What a true blessing your doctor is. There needs to be more like him in the world.

Rachel,

Certainly some good news! And, it's great to hear that you have found yourself a T that cares about you and has offered to make available his "scholarship fund" monies on behalf of additional services and treatment for you.

Sessions with him once a week, with no additional worries, again good news....in fact sounds like Great News! ....

Hope

That is great Rachel. I think if I was a doctor I would be inclined to do the same thing for the patients that I know are really working at getting better. So he has a lot of faith in you.

The receptionist at my psychotherapist's office had me fill out a financial form that may get my co-pay reduced so I can go there more often. She told me that they don't check the financial information. I thought that was nice of her to tell me that.

This seems like a success, just different than achieving a goal. IN other words a God-send. Good for you!

Take care
Tammy

That's really great! I see a lot of money hungry doctors and every one who will do something like that is a breath of fresh air.
