| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | | |

| | If Interested? Kitty Update Thought some of you would be interested in the progress of the 2 orphan kittens I am sheltering. Aside from my taking care of them, what they have done for me is 1 step from miraculous.
I have lifted up out of the "oh poor me phase" and I am feeling like a million bucks. Even m y mother has commented on what a change she sees in me since the kittens arrived. I am not sitting in my chair waiting to either eat or sleep. I have cleaned 1/2 of m y little place and started working on projects that have been laying around for months---a couple for a year or more.
I have found the perfect cure---at least for me! I am absolutely stunned at the affect the kittens have had on me. I am not depressed and that feeling of "why bother" is gone. It is like someone flipped on a switch and tada---a human being jumped out of the box.
If you guys are interested I will keep you updated on the babies CUZ I think we all could use some WARM AND FUZZIES once in a while. |

| | Grama-Herc,
That's wonderful news. Kittens can be so much fun.
What kind of projects are you working on? When I'm down I pick up my quilting or stitcheries and it always seems to make me feel better. |

| | Herc,
I am so glad that you have found something that has helped you. It's important to have something to look forward to. Something else to focus on, besides ourselves and symptoms. Great job..... |

| | makes me want to foster, too. In the past, I have only fostered boyfriends. You know, the 'catch and release' thing. What you are doing sounds far more satisfying. |

| | Foundling kitten I popped the hood to check my oil one morning and a little black kitten was sitting on the car engine. Maxwell is twelve now. I'm grateful for his company. |

| | Well, kitty update.
They are now 6 weeks old and weigh about a pound and a half each. Small issue going on though. They will not give up the bottle. No bottle no eating. I can not get them weaned. I am picking up 3 new babies today and Digger and Purr-C need to be on solid food. AAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH ! ! !
Now I remember why I quit being a shelter mommy. Weaning is a bitch. Do it to soon and it does not work. Do it to late and it does not work. Right now they are in the bath tub(washable surface} with food and milk in bowls and NOT DOING ANYTHING!
But, this to shall pass and the will get it, but it sure is messy. It is also funny to see them when they step in their food and get their paws all covered in ick! hehehe | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
