| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | | |

| | I have a new kitten, too.
Last Wednesday, I was sitting in my upstairs window, when I saw a minivan pull over, into the grass in front of my house, and throw something out the window. The window was open, and I yelled, "HEY!", and the guy sped away.
I immediately went out, to see what he tossed out of his car. It looked like coffee, or something (my view was sort of blocked by trees), but I could find no sign of anything.
The next evening, I was walking around the front of the house with the kids (we were looking for cool rocks), when a little orange kitten walked out from under one of the trees and "mewed" at me. She was scared, but I managed to catch her, and bring her inside. She was very hungry and thirsty, but very sweet, too.
We named her Pumpkin, and the kids adore her. She's about 12 weeks old.
It really makes me mad, when people dump animals like that. I wish I had been able to get the guy's license plate number. |

As long as I have been sheltering kittens it still amazes me what people will do to animals. |

| | I just went and picked up my two new babies last night. Yup...I am a sucker, I took the other little boy that I thought was so cute. What the heck...Willow needs a playmate. And I think it was a good thing all around. They did not even cry on the way home in their carrier...just curled up together. Did not cry last night with out their mama either. Having a sibling...someone familiar from home helped I think. I also think it helped that I have known them since before they were born (I was the first person that Mew let hold her after she was rescued).
They were a little spooked by the dog but they are little and she loves babies I figure they will all adjust once the kittens figure out that she just wants to mother them and not eat them.
So now the menagerie includes 1 dog (Jerron), 3 ferrets (Monster, Smokey and Bandit), 2 kittens (Willow and Bender) and 1 Boa Constrictor (Jazz).

| | Sad day today. Flower, Einstein and Scooter went back to the shelter to get ready to be adopted by their forever mommies.
I will miss them, especially Miss Flower the poster girl. Except for being the dirtiest litter of kittens they were the most enjoyable I've had

| | Giving up foster pets is the hardest part of raising them. That's how I ended up with 8 cats. Of course, I was fostering over 30 of them.
Always remember the good you're doing, and the lives you're saving. Plus, once you've gotten your house back in order (kittens have a way of putting things in disarray), you can open your door to another litter. When you're ready, of course.
Congrats on your 1000th post, too! |

| | Well, went and picked up a new baby today. What a pitiful site he is. He is alone, no other kitty was with him.
He is about 3 weeks old and suffering from starvation. He is alert now after feeding every hour for the last 5 hours. He has a veracious appetite now so he should rally from his current depleted condition.
But what a pitiful sight he is. Skin and bone--literally. But a lover, that's for sure. Already loves to cuddle under my chin after his bottle.
Will be a few days before he earns his name. Pictures in a day or two |
