| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | | |

| | Fellow Friend & Forum Member in Hospital Fellow Friend & Forum Member In Hospital - Stroke
Some of us know beatle baily. I spoke with him again tonight on the phone. Wednesday morning he awoke unable to speak and with some struggles with motor abilities. Fortunately he was able to get himself to the hospital ASAP, and is under doctor's care.
Him and I spoke yesterday, and at such a point it had appeared he was doing far better having regained his ability to speak, but today his condition has worsened and it appears he may be having re-occurring minor strokes, that are now affecting not only his speech, but his limbs as well.
My husband and I are worried about him, as there is a part of his brain which has yet to stop bleeding.
He on the other hand sounds far less worried about himself, and whether or not this is it, and more concerned with others pushing through fears and always striving to live life to its fullest.
We talked and he mentioned a number of things. If memory serves me right he said, that if I were to write anything upon the forum regarding him to please state that this stupid ranger is pleased with having made peace with himself. He also said, to make sure I say, that AA does work miracles and surprisingly well.
I imagine he, like myself recognize that we are not the only two PTSD sufferers, who suffer alcoholism simultaneous with PTSD. And, I'm not speaking of suffering the drink, I'm referring to accepting and living with the three-fold disease description of alcoholism. So I'm guessing that is why he had said to mention that.
Anyhow, beatle baily though I could hear him struggling with speech and some with thought, also sounded spirited and very happy with himself for having spent Tues., fishing all day with a friend and beatle pulling up a humungous cod.
Recently, he bought himself a motorcycle and just over a week ago, he had very happily driven it 500 miles in one weekend. This too thrilled him.
beatle baily is one hell'a'va joy to know and for as long as I've known him (app. 16 yrs. now) he's always doing very well to reach out to, support and help so many others.
He reminds me of the 'fork too long for oneself' story, where the fork is too long to feed oneself, in fact impossible.
I see him taking initiative and responsibility, both for himself and many others; I see and recognize him, as so often holding up and offering out, sometimes to some of the least likely, a fork full of of his best food. (-analogy). In return he too gets fed, (his spirit) and he thrives well this way.
Anyways, if there is anyone here who remembers and or knows beatle please feel free to comment. It would be great if he could return to the forum sometime, and know that others are and have been wishing him well.

| | Veiled, Bec, Kers and Tammy, I will see BB again tommorrow, and let him know you are wishing him well. My husb., kids and I stopped in to visit him earlier, and he had others vistors come and go to while we were there. We are all pulling for him to get through this and to do well on the other side of his recovery from this.
I'm feeling both sometimes scared and sad, and yet still believing the best, and believing that he will get through this with a decent recovery.
