| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | | |

| | Left the hospital from visiting with beatle bailey, not that long ago. Had brought into him a printed version of this thread to give him. Instead, he asked me to read it to him. Looks as if it really cheered him, as it's been hard as hell for him to be in bed, hospitalized for nearly 5 days now.
He told me that today he requested from the nurse that she take him outside for a walk, in which she did, and together they walked over to an abuttting property where a memorial service was being held for one or more firefighters. Turns out they both knew people there and chatted a bit and had some fun. BB is improving, and sounds good, given what he's been through, as of late. He had other visitors again today, as did he yesterday, which in this included his sister and brother. All good stuff......great news!
It always does wonders to be reminded that people care, and by now I hope he's reminded and knows this.
----- His update in his words, ......(as I was on the phone with him just a short time ago and that is what he shared:)
"Medical update: One doctor got an a'ss chewing because he started talking down to me. Then a nuerologist came in and started explaining the situation really well. Dr. *****, liked my spirit and inquisitive attitude and told my sister, that this guy is going to last a lot longer. So all in all, the prognosis is getting better every day.
Within six months the blood clot within my brain should disappear and there should not be any lasting side effects. If any of you have read some of what I've previously written, you'd know that I'll fight like hell to get back to normal.
Thanks for all your loving thoughts and prayers, and I promise that I won't get a motorcycle license for a little longer. Also, I don't think I can ever be as careful as doctors and family want me to be. That is just not in my nature."
-----
I know that beatle bailey wants to individually thank each and every one of you, as well, only it was a bit to complicated and difficult to hear to transcribe that, so I'll tell you, he says Thank you!, to each of you.
Overall, I am so very glad to see him improving as well as he is, and continue to hope his recovery continues and he's soon released and allowed to get up and out of the hospital and back into his life.
Only he's going to need to follow the instructions of his doctors, and not get himself a single scratch or cut. -(good luck with this beatle) (giggling) Can you imagine that, I understand why, but how? The doctors have told him that what with him on this blood thinner, he's not allowed any scratches and cuts.
Anyhow this is the update and I personally want to thank you'all for your replies.
Please take care, each of you, and I'll be wishing too, for speedy, continuing recoveries for all of us. I've been taught that healing, recovery and acceptance is a process that continues, continues, continues, .........not a shabby way to live, I might say.
As for beatle, he's under good medical care and hope you'all will be hearing from him soon.
Hope

| | Just spoke with **** via phone and he asked me to post this here for him today. I don't mind doing so at all so here goes: Further Update: "Spoke with the doctor this morning and he says my blood is finally starting to thin to the proper amount. I should only have to be here for another couple of days. Then they will cut me loose and they'll try to believe that I will be as careful as they want me to be. But I have to laugh when they say don't cut myself, bruise myself or anything like that, because they have been poking and prodding me and making me bleed more than if I'd walked into a briar bush. Thanks all and hopefully I'll be on the site soon. Can't say that my typing will be any near as good as goingonhope's, as my hand coordination has been effected by these four or five mini-strokes that I have had and has weakened, and alot slower than before. That's if I can even type." ......beatle bailey |

| | I have not been on for a few days due to illness or I would have sent my well wishes before now. Glad to hear that BB is feeling better. Please let him know that he is in my prayers...I will light a candle for him when I get home from work.
Thank you Hope, for passing along the messages and information. Also for being such a good friend. The world needs more like you. You are a blessing.
