| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | |

| | Spiders Just know they bring on full bore symptoms. I caught a Brown Recluse tonight in my living room. What can I say beyond "shit"? How do you exterminate these deadly assholes? And how do I not freak over real shit like this? Not normal panic but real danger? |

| | Hello Veiled.
You know, I hate them too. Really, truly, deeply! Although, here in Norway, we only have some small ones (The largest I've seen would be about 5 cm one end to the other), and none of them are deadly to humans what so ever. But that's not in my head.. |

| | They were in my shoes in the closet and under my bed, they were everywhere when I lived in No Carolina. Call an exterminator. I lived in an apartment that refused to call the exterminator, so I used borax, but the brown recluses just laughed at me. |

| | I hate spiders with a passion, coz they're related to one of the times i was abused. Always bring on flashbacks, and hypervigilance and nightmares when i actually manage to fall asleep after seeing one.
Everyone just laughs when i completely freak out around one... yeah real funny arsehole!
Sorry i don't have any suggestions for you though veiled! |

| | The best oh shit was I got 2 more recluses the next day. My teenager woke me with one mushed in a tissue asking if it was one (was shaken from his britches). After my eyes focused all I can say it is better than any coffee. The Orkin man has been out here since. Panic has been unreal but since anniversary time it has done pretty well. |

| | You know, I'm petrified of spiders and I don't really know why. I don't remember ever being bitten by one anything like that. I just know that I can't even look at one, even in pictures. |

| | Spiders I had a Brown Recluse in my basement that crawled up my Pj's and got trapped between my thigh and lower leg so bit me as well as they are able. Which from what I understand is pretty limited due to their mouths being just too small. Whatever, .still bear a scar. Eww. Since we chose to live in the middle of god forsaken nowhere I am always on the lookout for nasty insects. YYYYYYUUUUUUCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKK. They totally freak me out. In fact I diagnosed myself with lyme disease and luckily caught it so early my MD is telling me I will be fine with antib's. Better hope so. We have giant beetles and huge I mean huge Praying Mantis and a gazillion ladybugs. I want to move. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
