Default Hi - I Just Found Out That I Have PTSD

I have been seeing a psychiatrist for four years now and I finally asked her yesterday what I have. She told me that I was depressed and that I have PTSD. I don't know much about this disorder. I guess I just have always thought that soldiers get PTSD. I am hoping to learn a lot more about this disorder. It seems very scary to have a name for what is wrong with me.

Wendy

HI Greenfrog,

Welcome to the forum. Yes PTSD can be scary, and I am sorry that you have to have it too. This is a great place to learn about PTSD and the things that work to help us all get better.

BTW....My name is Wendy also.....

Hi-new here, too.
When I got the PTSD diagnosis, it was hard to see myself in the literature since my trauma was different than most examples. However, the more I learn about it, the more accepting I am of my ptsd-induced weirdness.
