| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. | | Catching Butterflies and Chasing Creepy Crawlies I know this is gonig to sound a bit wierd, but I have become a little obsessed in the last week with catching butterflies and other "bugs". An associate of mine at work mentioned that she and her daughter were thinknig about taking part in a butterfly survey here in our area.
I thought my daughter who is eight might enjoy that. She certainly did. What has surprised me though is how much I have enjoyed catching them and other bugs and figuring out what they were. It has been a blast! I am outside and moving around, chasing them around, huffing and puffing! But last night we caught 9 butterflies, two dragonflies and 2 lacewings!
It's a little crazy but I am lovin' it! |

| | Hi Articboy, I'm sure you're creating memories with your 8yr. old daughter that she'll cherish. My son is 8 and loves to catch bugs and bees, ....and bees that sting. Fortunately he's not allergic to them.
You two's fun and ideas sounds great! I really ought to join my son next time he's busy examining and catching "bugs". He'd like that alot.
Hey, thanks for sharing your fun, success and inspiration and go have a blast again soon with your daughter!
And, yes being active outside is generally lots of fun. Do enjoy and take care.

| | Thanks folks it has been fun. We went again today for a while, this time just with the camera and no not, next time the net is totally coming. It's kind of like hunting......but they don't taste as good as caribou or moose. |

| | Articboy, What are you up to? Have you been butterfly or bug hunting again lately with your daughter? If so anything about it new and good to tell.
Please do tell. Ya' as for hunting, ...moose sounds a heck'a'va lot of a tastier catch, (smiles) ...but the fun you're having with your daughter outside is awesome! When you find a good thing, such as you have here, keep it going. My wishes for you and your daughter, for many more good surprises and fun times to come.
