Default So Many Kindred Spirits Here, I Feel Like I Belong

OK here goes. I have Complex PTSD and have been in therapy for years but haven't been working on that. I have worked on depression, anxiety, self esteem, and then there were a few years of 'just help me get through another week'. Finally my family seems to be in a stable place, I have a Therapist that I trust and who is invested in helping me get a handle on this. We have done inner child work...but my inner child doesn't trust me. We have done some Cognitive Behavioural stuff and are getting ready to start Exposure Therapy. It is scary as hell thinking about it, but everything I read says it helps LOTS. I have been on internet forums before...and lots of them seem to have a lot of people spending lots of time and energy avoiding triggers and not really dealing with stuff. I am excited about being a part of this forum....I have been reading and reading many posts and it seems that people here are about getting better, even when it isn't comfortable. I'm ready.

I have found more information here than anywhere! And it's practical, hit-home kind of knowledge and support. Many of the things that are talked about I take to my therapist and we discuss. She sees this as another big step for me in reaching out. I hope you feel the same way! Welcome!

Welcome, I might not know how you feel but probably close. I'm scared to start therapy myself.. been doing stuff on my own but I know it's just skimming the surface. You are not alone here that's for sure. Peace
